Cassimus]] was the original founder of Peanut Depot, while actively looking for a new tenant. In [[2018]], Cassimus leased the space and historic roasters to [[Jaime Thursby]] of the [[Alabama Peanut Co.]]. Thursby had been selling boiled peanuts at various farmer's markets and festivals as well as his parents' antique store [[On a Shoestring]] in [[Bluff Park]].

The Peanut Place was a retail peanut roaster located in the former Peanut Depot at 2016 Morris Avenue in downtown Birmingham. The business used the antique roasters that were left when the Peanut Depot moved to the Parkside District in 2016.

Peanut Place was operated by building owner John Cassimus, whose grandfather D. J. Cassimus was the original founder of Peanut Depot, while actively looking for a new tenant. In 2018, Cassimus leased the space and historic roasters to Jaime Thursby of the Alabama Peanut Co.. Thursby had been selling boiled peanuts at various farmer's markets and festivals as well as his parents' antique store On a Shoestring in Bluff Park.
