The Presbytery of the Central South is the regional body of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) encompassing Birmingham and most of Alabama. The EPC was created in 1981 by congregations concerned about theological liberalism in the United Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. prior to its 1983 reunion with the Presbyterian Church in the U.S. Until the planting of Chelsea Presbyterian Church in 2017, the EPC had no churches in the Birmingham area.

In addition to Alabama, the Presbytery of the Central South includes parts of six other states. As of 2023, eight Alabama churches were members of the presbytery including the following in the Birmingham area:
