Sherman Collins

Sherman Collins Jr (born c. 1973 in Birmingham) is an insurance agent, property manager, and vice president of the Birmingham Board of Education.

Collins grew up in Birmingham and attended Birmingham City Schools. He earned a bachelor's in business administration at Samford University and worked in banking and insurance. He owns Scollin and Associates insurance agency and NewComers Reality property management. He is also a basketball coach for the Birmingham Storm and at Sun Valley Elementary School, and active in scouting.

Collins and his wife, Shanta Bender-Collins, have three children: Lauryn, John and Tyler. They attend 23rd Street Baptist Church. Collins is also a member of the Geometry Lodge No. 410 Ancient Free & Accepted Masons.
