Southtown Housing Community is a 451-unit housing project located at 2510 University Boulevard in Birmingham's Southside. The community is bounded by 

It is managed by Bessie Word. The Southtown Resident Council is presided over by Dondrea Clarke.

A 1981 mural by Vance Wesson adorns a retaining wall facing University Boulevard. The Downtown Church is organizing a volunteer effort to restore the mural in November 2007.
