Spring Fling (The Greater Alabama Spring Fling) is an annual event held during AEA Spring Break at the Alabama State Fairgrounds. The 2006 event, managed by Mid America Shows Delaware with attractions from North American Midway Entertainment, consolidated activites in the "Kiddieland" section of the park and attracted 30,400 visitors from March 17-26, including two days when the event was rained out.

The event has not been profitable for several years, but is being continued as a service of the city. In 2005 it ran a $75,187 deficit, and lost $38,600 in 2004, a year that saw many new rides and a 106% increase in attendance over 2003. The even less-profitable "Fall Carnival," held at the same location with the same organizers, has tentatively been discontinued after 2006.

Spring Fling hosts special daily promotions for church, school and greek groups and hosts various city-sponsored events such as Senior Unityfest
