William Barnes

William A. Barnes III (born January 14, 1978 in Birmingham) is a candidate for District 9 in the 2009 Birmingham City Council election.

Barnes grew up in north central Birmingham. He studied computer engineering at the University of Alabama, earning his bachelor's degree in 2000 from ITT Technical Institute. After college he returned to the city as a youth advisor. He taught computer skills at ITT Technical Institute and later became an instructor for SouthTrust Bank.
