Woodlawn Elementary School in 1910

Woodlawn Elementary School (originally Woodlawn Central School) was an elementary school constructed on Georgia Road in Woodlawn in 1892 and operated by Birmingham City Schools from 1910 to 1961. The school property was donated by Obadiah Wood. The three-story brick building featured high ceilinged classrooms.

In the 1950s the school housed Birmingham's "Sight-Saving Class" for visually-impaired students.

It was demolished in 1962 and became a parking lot on the campus of the East Birmingham Church of God in Christ.
