He also completed a business course in Mobile and took a job there as an accountant. From there he went on to positions in St Louis, Missouri and Dallas, Texas. He worked as a bank teller in Little Rock, Arkansas. Later he accepted a job as purchasing agent for the Wilson Manufacturing Co. in Wallingford, Connecticut and was assigned to their New York and Chicago offices before he settled in [[Birmingham]] in [[1886]].

Zachariah Lee Nabers Jr (born May 6, 1858 in Carrollton, Pickens County; died June 20, 1930 in Birmingham) was an accountant, banker, business executive and investor.

Nabers, the son of Zachariah and Sarah Nabers grew up in Mobile and attended public schools before being enrolled in the Mobile Military Academy. He also completed a business course in Mobile and took a job there as an accountant. From there he went on to positions in St Louis, Missouri and Dallas, Texas. He worked as a bank teller in Little Rock, Arkansas. Later he accepted a job as purchasing agent for the Wilson Manufacturing Co. in Wallingford, Connecticut and was assigned to their New York and Chicago offices before he settled in Birmingham in 1886.

Nabers was secretary of the Elyton Land Company office and was also an officer of William Underwood's Mary Pratt Furnace Company and a director of the First National Bank of Birmingham. He invested in South Alabama sawmills and Cullman County coal mines. He served as president of the Stouts Mountain Coal & Coke Company.

Nabers married Alice Worthington, daughter of B. P. Worthington, and had two daughters, Marguerite and Nellie.

Nabers was a member of the Southern Athletic Club and the Birmingham Country Club. He died in 1930 and is buried at Elmwood Cemetery
