2121 1st Avenue North

2121 1st Avenue North is a two-story, 13,500 square-foot brick commercial building located at 2121-2123 1st Avenue North in downtown Birmingham. A parking lot is located to the rear of the building, facing Morris Avenue. The date of construction is uncertain, but has been given as 1924 in real estate listings.

In 1926 the ground floor was split between Temerson Bros. on the west and Silverstein Bros. ladies wear on the east. Three years later, the Blumburg Dry Goods Co. had taken over the Temerson Bros. space.

In 1964 the Gem Jewelry Co. wholesale jewelers was on the east and Magnolia Diamonds in the western half of the space.

Christy Opara opened her Body & Soul Fitness studio in the building in 2005.

Office tenants have included Cummings Creative Group, Black Design Architecture, Luca, Hennecy Design, the Matuszak Group, My Advisor Inc., and Occidental Benefits. Building manager Harbert Retail also operates part of the building as Downtown Storage.

Springvest LLC and Garner Properties LLC purchased the building for $1.35 million from James Rowland in 2018. They sold it, in turn, for $2.2 million to the newly-registered 2121 First Avenue LLC, an affiliate of CRA Investments, owned by Sixty West of Dexter, Missouri, in 2019.

Sixty Wes sold 2121 and 2127 1st Avenue North to Tax Break Recovery LLC for $5 million in September 2022.
