3rd Street Market (formerly R. & M. Convenience Store) is a small grocery store located at 1403 3rd Street North in Enon Ridge. It was incorporated in 2014 and is owned by Rodriques and Brianna Cowans.
The Cowanses won REV Birmingham's "Big Pitch" business development competition in 2017 with a concept for transforming their convenience store into a community market filling a "food desert" by stocking fresh, healthy foods. They worked with Create Birmingham's CO.STARTERS to develop business and marketing strategies, with financing from PNC Bank and additional support from REV Birmingham's Business Growth and Urban Food Projects.
