Alabama Oil & Gas Recovery

Alabama Oil & Gas Recovery was a used oil recovery and transport business located at 2400 Blackjack Road in Trussville. The business was incorporated in 1993 by Timothy Massey and Robert Britt.

Massey died in 2013.

The company ceased doing business and declined to renew its permits from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management. In February 2023 ADEM notified the owners of numerous violations and ordered them to a submit a remediation plan. After no response was made, ADEM called for the site to be remediated by the state with money from the Alabama Hazardous Substances Cleanup Fund, with those costs being assessed by lien against the property.
