Byron York

Byron York (born 1958 in Birmingham) is chief political correspondent for The Washington Examiner weekly newspaper.

York is the son of Birmingham television personality Tom York and his wife, Helen. He graduated from Vestavia Hills High School in 1974 and earned a bachelor's degree at the University of Alabama in 1977 and a master's from the University of Chicago. He worked as a news producer for CNN Headline News and as a reporter for The American Spectator. Later he was a columnist for The Hill and a White House correspondent for National Review. He publishes a syndicated column and appears frequently on political programs on television and radio. He is the author of The Vast Left Wing Conspiracy: The Untold Story of How Democratic Operatives, Eccentric Billionaires, Liberal Activists, and Assorted Celebrities Tried to Bring Down a President-and Why They'll Try Even Harder Next Time, published by Crown Forum in 2005.
