Cahaba Heights United Methodist Church

Cahaba Heights United Methodist Church is a congregation of the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church located at 3139 Cahaba Heights Road in Cahaba Heights. It was founded in 1879 as a congregation of the Alabama Conference of the Methodist Protestant Church and initially known as New Hope Methodist Protestant Church. Initially located closer to the Cahaba River, the congregation obtained its present site in 1908 and erected a wooden building there. This was replaced by a brick one in 1927. At this time the congregation was known as New Market Methodist Protestant Church. After the 1939 denominational reunion it became known as New Market Methodist Church.

The 1950s brought further changes and expansions to the church the community of New Market changed its name to Cahaba Heights, the church followed suit becoming Cahaba Heights Methodist Church. It also began a new building program in 1957, it was completed in 1968. The old brick church was taken down in 1967.

In 2022, Church of the Cross, a new congregation of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church began meeting in the fellowship hall.
