Cary Pate Allbritton (born April 21, 1968; died July 8, 1989) was the victim of an unsolved homicide at his apartment at 2332 10th Avenue South in Southside.

Cary was the son of Charles and Patricia Allbritton. He grew up in Roebuck and attended Cathedral Christian Elementary School and Huffman High School. He worked at a delicatessen and also played guitar, roller skated, and made artwork for a number of local bands.

Allbritton and three friends were returning to his apartment early in the morning of July 8, 1989. An armed man followed them into the hallway and demanded the women's purses. He followed them into Allbritton's apartment and attempted to grab one of the purses. Allbritton stepped between them to protect the women and was shot in the chest. The suspect fled in a waiting car. Allbritton made his way across the street to The Nick where he collapsed in the arms of Chris Lowery. He died later that night at UAB Hospital. The crime remains unsolved.
