City Detect is a company which collects and analyzes imagery from public streets to assess property maintenance. It was founded in 2021 by Erik Johnson and Gavin Baum-Blake. Its offices are located in The EDGE incubator at 2627 10th Avenue in Tuscaloosa.
Some of City Detect's clients include the City of Birmingham; Tuscaloosa; Greenville; Springfield, Illinois; and Columbia, South Carolina. It also provides services to Habitat for Humanity and the Protective Life Foundation.
City Detect has participated in the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama's "Alabama Launchpad" program and has received investment from the Bronze Valley nonprofit tech accelerator.
