Coleman Auto Parts Ink Blotter - 1940s

Coleman Auto Parts is an auto parts store located at 3135 Cedar Avenue Southwest in Birmingham. It was opened by R. C. Coleman in the late 1930s, at 132 Cedar Street, Powderly.

Coleman lived across the street from the business with his three children and his wife Mable. In addition to auto parts, much of it salvaged from junked automobiles, the business also stocked lumber, coal, hardware, and groceries.

R. C. and Mable's son, W. L. "Bud" Coleman joined the business after he left school. In the early 1950s, the business was sold to a relative, Dub Coleman. With the proceeds of the business, R. C. and Bud developed Coleman Lakes, a recreational fishing business in McCalla.

Dub Coleman sold Coleman Auto Parts in 2013.
