Cumulus Media Inc. (formerly Cumulus Communiciations) is an Atlanta, Georgia-based publicly-traded radio broadcasting company which owns several stations in Birmingham. Its local offices are located at at 244 Goodwin Crest Drive on Red Mountain.
In all, the company operates 446 radio stations 90 markets. It also owns the New York-based Westwood One media company which syndicates content to individual stations. Mary Berner is the president and CEO of Cumulus Media.
In 2011 the company acquired the Citadel Broadcasting Corporation for $2.5 billion. Lingering debt from that deal led the company to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2017.
