D. O. McClusky, Jr

D. O. "Red" McClusky, Jr (born July 23, 1916) is a retired pharmacist and hospital administrator.

He grew up on a family farm near the present Mountain Brook Country Club golf course. He worked as a teenager at Gilchrist's drug store in Mountain Brook Village, taking curb orders, working the soda fountain, and making deliveries on the store's Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

He went on to earn a degree in pharmacology at Howard College and worked as a licensed pharmacist at Gilchrist's. He went on to work as an administrator at Druid City Hospital in Tuscaloosa, retiring after 30 years. He and his wife Mildred, whom he met at Howard, reside in Tuscaloosa.
