Erra (stylized as ERRA) is an American progressive metalcore band which formed in Birmingham by high school friends Alex Ballew (drums), Jesse Cash (guitar), Adam Hicks (bass), Garrison Lee (vocals), and Alan Rigdon (guitar) in 2009. The band was named for an Akkadian god of mayhem and plague. The band is recognized for alternating "clean" melodic vocals and music with harder "dirty" passages more typical of heavy metal.

The band wrote and recorded two EPs, which they distributed independently, gaining notice from Raleigh, North Carolina's Tragic Hero Records, which signed them to a contract in 2011. Their first full-length album, "Impulse" was released later that year and the group went on tour to promote it.

Hicks left the group in 2012 while the remaining members put together a second studio album, "Augment". Sean Price came on board and performed in the video for "Hybrid Earth". When the contract with Tragic Hero ran out in 2014 Lee and Rigdon both left the band. ERRA soon signed with Sumerian Records of Washington D.C. and brought on a new vocalist, Ian Eubanks. The new lineup debuted in the EP "Moments of Clarity" which made it to no. 1 on Billboard's "Heatseekers" album chart.

In 2015 ERRA toured with August Burns Red and TesseracT. Eubanks left after the touring season and was replaced by J. T. Cavey. His vocals were featured on the album "Drift", which was released in 2016 and also topped the "Heatseekers" chart. It was followed up two years later by "Neon", which attained the same distinction. In 2019 the group issued two singles.

In 2020 ERRA signed with UNFD, a label based in Melbourne, Australia. The new partnership began with a single and video for the song "Snowblood" in August of that year. After two more single releases, the band announced a new album, entitled "ERRA" for a March 2021 release.
