Ed Fields

Ed Fields (born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin) is the chief strategist and senior adviser on the staff of Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin.

Fields earned a bachelor's degree in marketing at Alabama State University and has a master's in business administration from the Manderson Graduate School of Business at the University of Alabama. He served as vice president of business development for the Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerce.

In 2007 Fields and his wife, Cherie founded Projects Unlimited, an event management and marketing firm specializing in working with non-profit organizations, at Innovation Depot. The company's name was changed to Relax, It's Handled in 2013.

In December 2014 Fields was hired as curator of events and community engagement for the Alabama Media Group. He has also been active in the spoken word poetry scene in Birmingham and has worked as a DJ for a jazz station in Montgomery. He served as manager of Woodfin's mayoral campaign and also served on his transition team before being named to his present post.

He and his first wife Cherie Fields were divorced. He since remarried, to Shyla Fields.
