Michael "Mike" Melvin (born 1953) is retired from the Birmingham Police Department and was the Chief of Police for the town of Kimberly.
Melvin joined the Kimberly Police Department on May 10, 2006. He was offered the job of police chief in February 2007 after it was declined by interim chief Bill Isbell who demoted himself from sergeant to patrolman. Melvin succeeded former chief Kim Emerson, who resigned in November 2006. On March 27, 2009, Melvin abruptly resigned. He was replaced by Assistant Police Chief James Belding.
