Shades Brook Building
The Shades Brook Building (sometimes called Shadesbrook Building or Shades Brook Office Building) is a 3-story, 35,330 square-foot office building located on a 2.91 acre site at 3300 Cahaba Road, at its termination into U.S. Highway 280 just south of Shades Creek Parkway. The property is in unincorporated Jefferson County, bordering Mountain Brook.
The brick-clad building was constructed in 1979 on the bank of Shades Creek. The lower two floors feature vertical strip windows, which are opposed by a horizontal band of windows on the top floor, capped by a red metal hipped roof. There are 135 parking spaces in the lot stretching along the south of the building, with 21 of those sheltered below the ground floor next to the creek.
The building is leased and managed by J. H. Berry & Gilbert Inc.
