Sonny Ferguson

R. A. "Sonny" Ferguson, Jr (born c. 1948) is a former Auburn Tigers football player, attorney, and retired domestic relations judge for the 10th Judicial Circuit of Alabama.

Ferguson received his bachelor's degree in business from Auburn University in 1970. He played defensive back and linebacker for the Tigers for four years, and was named Sports Illustrated and AP National Lineman of the Week and All-Southeastern Conference Lineman in 1969. He received his juris doctorate from Cumberland School of Law in 1973.

After being admitted to the Alabama State Bar, he practiced family and domestic law for 21 years before being named judge by Governor Fob James in 1995. He retired on January 17, 2011 and joined Christian & Small on February 1.
