Southside Church of God, Birmingham

Southside Church of God (sometimes South Side Church of God) is a Christian church affiliated with the Anderson, Indiana-based Church of God Ministries, an outgrowth of Wesleyan-Holiness religious movements of the 19th century midwest.
The church previously met in a one-story 4,191 square-foot framed building at 3117 7th Avenue South in Birmingham's Lakeview District. The building was constructed in the 1920s or 1930s and re-clad with aluminum siding in the 1960s. It featured a gabled offset porch raised on brick piers with iron railings. There were 8 stained-glass windows in the barrel-vaulted sanctuary, and a 9th in the vestibule. A triple stained-glass interior window was installed behind the altar. The interior was finished with paneled skirting on the walls and rose-colored carpet. In 1997 the church carried out a repair project and enclosed the foundation piers with a brick skirt wall, changing to sandstone around the porch.
The building was listed as a contributing structure to the Southside Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.
In 2022 the building had been acquired by Brasfield & Gorrie and was used for accessory offices and storage. It was demolished in 2024 as part of the company's headquarters expansion.
