Sylvia Swayne (born c. 1997 in Montgomery) is a customer support manager for Shipt.

Swayne was raised by her mother after the death of her father, a U.S. Air Force master sergeant. She earned her bachelor's degree in English at the University of Alabama in 2019.

Swayne began volunteering with the Jefferson County Democratic Executive Committee. She was one of 7 Democratic candidates who qualified for the January 2024 special election to fill the Alabama House District 55 seat left vacant by the resignation of Fred Plump. She was presumed to be the first transgender person to run for state office in Alabama.

Swayne advanced to a runoff against Travis Hendrix in the Democratic primary and collected the endorsement of 4th place finisher Cara McClure and large contributions from the Washington D.C.-based Leaders We Deserve, an organization founded by activist and mass shooting survivor David Hogg. Hendrix won the runoff 65% to 35%.
