Talk:Pinson

  • I think I saw somewhere that the Census-designated "Pinson" differs substantially from the later-incorporated municipality. I don't know if there's a good estimate (by census block or research done during the incorporation process or something) for the actual number of municipal residents. --Dystopos 13:55, 26 February 2007 (PST)
  • That is correct. The city itself is much smaller. I struggled with this article and didn't copy it from Wikipedia because it is so incomplete. It needs history, since this area is one of the oldest in Jefferson County. Here's an edited picture (it is missing the words "Mid-July 1861") of a historical sign in Triangle Park about the Jefferson Warriors from Mt Pinson. The City of Pinson took in the "Pinson" and "Palmerdale" communities when it incorporated, but that leaves out a big chunk of the CDP. Both of my boys go to Pinson schools but neither (different mothers) live within the city limits. --Wheresdib 14:45, 26 February 2007 (PST)

Population, external links

  • I did a little research and the estimated population of the incorporated city in 2004 was 6,000. I am going to add a few things to this article, including adding some external links. --Wheresdib 11:13, 28 February 2007 (PST)
