The Halston, formerly Autumn Wood Apartment Homes and The Retreat at Rocky Ridge, is a 206-unit apartment complex located on 16.5 acres at 1000 Autumn Wood Drive, off Old Rocky Ridge Road near the I-65/I-459 interchange in Hoover.
A 10-unit building at Autumn Wood was damaged by fire in 2012. The owner's plans to repair the damage were complicated because the City of Hoover required variance to its then-current zoning requirement that apartment communities not have more than 7 units per acre.
An affiliate of Resource Real Estate of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania purchased the complex from the Collins Group in April 2013 for $8.5 million. They sold it to Timberland Partners Inc. of Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2021 for $25.4 million.
