** That is a good question. It raises some difficulties because some African American churches, such as Sixth Avenue are duly affiliated. They cooperate with both the National Baptist Convention (and its Alabama affliate, the Alabama Missionary Baptist State Convention) and the Southern Baptist Convention (and its Alabama affiliate the Alabama Baptist State Convention. Also some long-time Southern Baptist churches such as Southside Baptist are no longer affiliated with the SBC. Your question prompted me to do something I've thought about for a while: import the [[List of Churches in the Birmingham Metro Baptist Association]]. I would not want churches like Sixth Avenue to be listed in the SBC sub category and not in the category with all the other Black Baptist churches. Given Birmingham's realities, the best way to divide the Baptist churches might be those founded by African Americans and those founded by Whites. Then there would also be some that are Hispanic and some that are Vietnamese etc. [[User:David Bains|David Bains]] ([[User talk:David Bains|talk]]) 06:51, 9 December 2023 (CST)
