Shannon-Waltchack Investment Real Estate is a partnership of Len Shannon and Derek Waltchack which was formed to purchase and redevelop the 400 Hollywood Boulevard parcel overlooking U. S. Highway 280.
They purchased the site from the Mazer family in 2009 after the proposed Montelena condominium project was abandoned. In 2010 they created The Hollywood LLC to develop the property. Their plans include a 13,300-square foot restaurant with adjacent retail space. They have requested $250,000 in sales tax deferments from the City of Birmingham to serve as an incentive.
