-The High Note was originally opened as '''Faces Deli''' in the late 1980s on [[Valley Avenue]].  The Rock'N Horse was later born when [[Sam Pilato]] was asked by the [[Valejo Brothers]] to put in a stage at Faces Deli so they would have a place to perform their music.   Pilato has handled promotions for the venue since it opened.  Over the years, The High Note/Rock'N Horse has seen several locations, including the [[Colonnade]] and at the [[Howard Johnson Inn]] on [[Oxmoor Road]].  The regular customers have followed Pilato no matter where the physical location has been.
