The company was founded in 1902 by Crawford Johnson as the Birmingham Coca-Cola Bottling Company. It is headquartered at 4600 East Lake Boulevard, near Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport.
The company, headed by president and CEO John Sherman, operates three production facilities and 20 distribution centers, employing nearly 10,000 people and earning revenues of $1.2 billion in 2016. After aggressive expansion in 2015-2017, it has become the third-largest Coca-Cola bottling company in North America.
