The Birmingham Sunday Morning Star was a weekly, eight-page, 48-column, Sunday morning newspaper published by Johnson & Lacey began publication on July 24, 1887. Its offices were located at 1921½ 2nd Avenue North. 5,000 copies of the first issue were distributed gratuitously throughout the city for free. After the first issue, subscriptions cost 10 cents per month; 25 cents per quarter or one dollar per year.
