Heather Spencer is a metal artist, marketing director and self-described "poster child" for the Sloss Metal Arts program at Sloss Furnaces, where she is an instructor and artist-in-residence.
After participating in an iron pour at Sloss in 1994 Spencer dedicated herself to the creation of metal art through welding, forging and casting. She studied under Vaughn Randall at Sloss and completed the welding program at Bessemer Tech in 1997. She founded her own Fluffy Metal studio as well as working to expand the instructional programs at Sloss to included welding and blacksmithing.
