John Lytle Wilson (born in Rock Hill, North Carolina) is an artist, best known for his brightly-colored paintings of cartoon robots and monkeys, sometimes invading kitschy landscapes from decorative prints from thrift stores.

Wilson came to Birmingham as a Birmingham-Southern College student. After graduating he moved to China, New Orleans and Tallahassee, where he enrolled in graduate studies at Florida State University. He and his wife then returned to Birmingham and he took a job at Wallace State Community College.

Wilson has exhibited at Artwalk, Magic City Art Connection and Rojo.
