The 1907 train accident was a collision between a Frisco switch engine and a [[North Highland Line|North Highland streetcar] at 19th Street and 9th Avenue North on the afternoon of June 18, 1907. James Bailey, the electric streetcar's inexperienced motorman, failed to respond to a danger flag and entered the crossing just ahead of the switching engine.
Casualties
Ten people were injured in the accident:
- Miss Charles F. Tye, badly bruised on arms and knee
- Mrs W. F. Martin, slight injury
- J. L. Kates, police officer, sprained arm and hand
- Mrs Mary Kerram, serious back sprain
- C. C. Snyder, slight injuries
- Dock Marshall, bruised about body
- Hattie Joyner (colored), shoulder and side sprains
- Docie Higgins (colored), shoulder bruised
- Mary Reese (colored), hand and arm sprained
- James Bailey, motorman, hand and arm sprains
