2006 Shelby County time capsule

The 2006 Shelby County time capsule is being prepared to replace the 1906 Shelby County time capsule which was opened on June 17, 2006. Because the previous one had been damaged by moisture, Bobby Joe Seales, president of the Shelby County Historical Society in charge of preparations, has committed to a state-of-the-art moisture barrier in the new capsule.

The contents of the capsule will be revealed after it is set in place behind the cornerstone of the Shelby County Courthouse.
