J. S. Abrams Elementary School is an elementary school in the Bessemer City Schools system, located at 1200 23rd Street North. It was founded as a junior-senior high school (7-12) in 1960 when the former Dunbar High School was converted into a K-8 school. It was named in memory of Jackson Abrams, a long-serving principal at Dunbar.

A new J. S. Abrams Primary School was constructed in 1980 for grades K-5 while the existing Abrams High School served grades 6-12. In 1987 the high school closed and the primary school was expanded to K-6 while 7th and older students transferred to Davis Middle School and Jess Lanier High School. The former Abrams High School building became part of the primary school campus.
