The Reverend Alfonzo Scales (born 1933 - died March 31, 2008 in Birmingham) was pastor of Friendship Baptist Church in Gadsden and president of the Alabama chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference.

Scales was among the eight first African Americans men to attend Howard College in the early 1960s. He also graduated from the Easonian Bible Institute. He died at UAB Hospital of complications from an automobile accident on February 14, 2008. He was survived by his wife and nine children.
