The company was founded in November 1927 at 803 3rd Avenue North. By 1938 it was owned by Tim Rocks. The shop was heated by a gas stove on which Rocks kept a winter-long supply of peanuts roasting. Before 1964 the business moved to 650-652 2nd Avenue North.

When Rocks retired in 1990, his son, Larry took over the business and ushered it into the digital era with help from his wife, Margaret.

The shop was located at 2809 Central Avenue in Homewood until moving to Crestwood Boulevard in 2009.
