Ben Short (born May 21, 1969 in Hueytown) was a professional baseball pitcher.

After playing for the Hueytown Golden Gophers, Short played for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 14th round of the June 1991 amatuer draft. Short played 3 seasons for the Yankees' farm teams in the minor leagues. After his playing career was over, Short coached the Jeff State Pioneers' team, winning the state championship in 2002.
