William Dean Shields (born August 23, 1953 in Vicksburg, Mississippi) was a tackle in the National Football League who played eleven seasons, nine of those for the San Diego Chargers. He was on the Super Bowl XIX (1985) winning team of the San Francisco 49ers. Shields was a 6th Round draft pick in 1975 after playing at Georgia Tech. Shields is a 1971 graduate of Banks High School.
