The Birmingham-Jefferson History Museum is a collection of artifacts relating to the history of Birmingham and Jefferson County collected under the auspices of the Birmingham-Jefferson Historical Society with Marvin Whiting as curator.

The museum was incorporated as a separate entity in 2004. Since then it has been housed temporarily housed in a 1,600 square foot space at 12 Office Park in the Mountain Brook Office Park while organizers pursue plans for a permanent home.

In May 2008 the museum announced that it would purchase the former Regions Investment Company building at 2011 4th Avenue North for $725,000. The two-story, 12,800 square-foot building was constructed in the early 20th century and will be refurbished before the museum opens, possibly as early as 2009.
