Brierfield Ironworks was a 19th century iron furnace and forge located on property owned by C. C. Huckabee in Bibb County. It was first constructed in 1861 and nationalized by the Confederate States of America during the Civil War.
The furnace was demolished by Wilson's Raiders in 1865 and the property was sold by the United States to the Canebrake Company, who placed engineer Josiah Gorgas in charge of reconstructing and operating it. Gorgas struggled to maintain production amid difficulties with the railroads and other factors.
The historic furnace site is now the centerpiece of Brierfield Ironworks State Park.
