Hellmers owns the [[2nd Avenue North]] jewelry and accessories shop Charm. She has also owned and operated two other stores since being in Birmingham, [[Luxe]] which was located in [[Forest Park]] and the the [[Five Points South]] boutique [[Jinx]].  
Hellmers studied illustration at the Fashion Institute of Technology. She later became a buyer and worked as a display dresser at Barneys in New York. She co-owned an antique furniture store in Atlanta before visiting [[Birmingham]] in [[1998]]. She "fell in love" with the city and relocated in [[1998]].


Since coming to Birmingham Hellmers has operated three retail outlets, [[Jinx]] in [[Five Points South]], [[Luxe]] in [[Forest Park Village]], and [[Charm]] in [[2nd Avenue North]]. After selling Charm in [[2018]] Hellmers began working in sales at [[Levy's|Levy's Fine Jewelry]] down the street and pursuing a certification in gemology.
Hellmers and her husband, artist [[Walt Creel]], live in the [[Wooster Lofts]] building.

Chatham Hellmers (born 1969 in New York) is a jewelry dealer, makeup stylist and former retailer.

Hellmers studied illustration at the Fashion Institute of Technology. She later became a buyer and worked as a display dresser at Barneys in New York. She co-owned an antique furniture store in Atlanta before visiting Birmingham in 1998. She "fell in love" with the city and relocated in 1998.
