D. Paul Jones, Jr (born 1942) is, until January 1, 2008, the president and chief executive officer of Compass Bank.

Jones completed his bachelor of science at the University of Alabama in 1964 and went on to earn his juris doctorate from the New York University School of Law in 1967.

Jones was an attorney for Balch & Bingham, starting in 1968. He worked there as Compass' chief legal counsel until 1978 when he became a senior vice-president and director for Compass.

In 1991 he succeeded bank co-founder Harry Brock, Jr as CEO. In 17 years as head of the bank he increased its holdings from $5 billion to $42 billion and oversaw the company's acquisition by Spain's Banco Bilboa Vizcaya Argentia in 2007.

Jones will be succeeded by Gary Hegel, the current chief financial officer.
