David Powell

David Marshall Powell (born November 30, 1972 in Birmingham) is general manager of the service provider business for LogicMonitor, based in Santa Barbara, California.

Powell is the oldest of three children born to William David Powell III and his wife, the former Bonnie Vines. He graduated from Vestavia Hills High School in 1991 and earned a bachelor's degree at the University of Alabama in 1995. In 1996 he completed a Master's in Communications at Alabama and later took a consulting job with Cook Systems International. In 2001 he joined the operations department at the Evolution Technology Group, a provider of information technology to medical practices. Within a year he was promoted to director of operations.

After nearly eight years at ETG, Powell moved to Claris Networks of Alabama for a short stint. In April of that year Claris was acquired by TekLinks and Powell was tapped as Vice President of Managed and Cloud Services for the West Homewood-based company. He left that firm in 2016 for his present position with LogicMonitor.

Powell has served on the boards of directors for Workshops Inc. and TechBirmingham and was recognized as one of Birmingham Business Journal's "Top 40 Under 40" in 2011. He has also served as board president of the Vestavia Lacrosse Organization and in February 2016 he was appointed to the Vestavia Hills Board of Education.
