FoodLand, Inc. is a grocery store chain owned by Mitchell Grocery Corporation that currently has four locations in the Birmingham District, along with 16 other stores throughout the southeast.

Starting in 1982, Mitchell opened its first Foodland store in Albertville. The company has since acquired several other supermarkets under the Foodland Plus, Food Giant, Warehouse Discount Groceries and Super Dollar banners.

In the fall of 2018, a $1 million renovation to the Gardendale store was initiated. The project expanded and updated the produce, meat, and frozen food sections, as well as adding a bakery and deli that include a “meat and three” option. There were also updates to the look of the interior of the store as well as new exterior signage.
