The original store, which also features a cafe, is located in the Hoover Village shopping center at 1580 Montgomery Highway in Hoover. The company was founded in 2005 by Ken Camp and his son Kenny. Michael Maddox joined the company as CEO and COO in 2016.

In 2018 Organic Harvest announced the opening of two new stores. One in the Caheen Building at 1924-1926 2nd Avenue North in downtown Birmingham and one at The Village at Brock's Gap shopping center in Hoover's Trace Crossings subdivision.
