Hippodrome in 2006

Vincent Oliver's Hippodrome Barber Shop is a one-chair 12 x 22-foot barber shop at 5530 1st Avenue North in downtown Woodlawn. The shop has been owned since 1966 by Vincent Oliver. The space has been occupied by a barber shop since 1904.

Oliver has decorated the shop with layers of memorabilia, including old bottles, lunchboxes, posters and photographs. There is an old AM tube radio, but no telephone. Haircuts are given on a walk-in basis only.
