Horace J. Salter (born 1848 in Massachusetts; died 1930) was the first Postmaster of Elyton Post Office, from 1892 to 1897, and served as secretary of Farrar Lodge No. 8 from 1887 until his death.

Salter and his wife, Elizabeth moved to Elyton from Tennessee in 1885.
